Cameron Grayson is an Australian photographer and director with over 25 years of international experience in fashion, advertising, and celebrity portraiture. He currently divides his time between Australia and the United States while shooting globally across Europe and Asia.

Originally studying Graphic Design at Swinburne University in Melbourne in the early 1990s, Grayson transitioned to photography and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Photography at RMIT University in the late 1990s. Trained in traditional film processes across all formats, he began his career apprenticing with leading Australian photographers in Melbourne and Sydney. In his final year at RMIT, he was selected to represent the university in an international photography competition hosted by BMW in Munich. Judged by legends including Richard Avedon, Michel Comte, Anton Corbijn, and Bettina Rheims, Grayson won the competition against entrants from the world’s top photographic colleges. The award led him to New York in early 2000.

In New York, he continued his studies at Parsons School of Design while assisting some of the industry’s most respected names, including Steven Klein, François Nars, Cedric Buchet, Jan Welters, Kayt Jones, and ultimately serving as first assistant to the legendary Max Vadukul. During this period he contributed to campaigns and editorials for L’Uomo Vogue, Vogue Italia, American Vogue, i-D, Numero, Yohji Yamamoto, Victoria’s Secret, and many others, working alongside industry icons such as Nicoletta Santoro, Brana Wolf, Guido, Ward Stegerhoek, Odile Gilbert, Didier Malige, and Fabien Baron.

Grayson signed with his first New York agency in 2003. His advertising campaigns have appeared in over 64 countries, with billboards in major cities worldwide. He is also a highly regarded celebrity portrait photographer, with numerous magazine covers and brand campaigns to his name.

In 2008, Grayson returned to Australia to raise his family. Today he works between Australia and the United States, regularly shooting across Europe and Asia — including recent projects in Portugal, Bali, and Greece. As a Photographic Director, he seamlessly blends stills and motion with a distinctive cinematic style. His unique background in graphic design and traditional photography allows him to fuse technical precision, emotional depth, and strong design sensibility in every project.

Known for his relaxed and disarming approach on set, Grayson creates an environment where subjects feel comfortable and his vision can be authentically realised. He continues to work at the highest levels while taking pride in helping emerging brands develop a strong international voice through his decades of global experience.
